Terms of Service

These terms cover use of the BeatDig online metronome and tap tempo tool.

What the service is

BeatDig is a free metronome that runs in a web browser. No account or payment is required, and use is not restricted to personal practice — teaching, rehearsal and other commercial settings are all fine.

Your responsibilities

Use the service lawfully. Sending automated or excessive requests, or otherwise interfering with normal operation of the site, is not permitted.

Hearing protection is your responsibility. When using headphones, start with the volume low and raise it only as far as you need.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided as is. The operator does not guarantee accuracy or uninterrupted availability, and audio delay or interruption may occur depending on your browser, operating system and device.

In particular, on mobile devices, locking the screen or backgrounding the browser may cause the operating system to suspend audio playback. This is outside the control of a web page.

To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for direct or indirect loss arising from use of the service.

Intellectual property

The design, written content and code of this site belong to the operator. When quoting from the site, please attribute it and include a link.

The click sounds are waveforms synthesised in your browser at playback time. There is no restriction whatsoever on recording or using those sounds.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be revised, and any revision takes effect when it is published on this page.
